Local artist Nava Mentkow is partnering with the JCC to help raise money for the JCC Children’s Scholarship Fund. Nava grew up in Wellington, attended the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and a degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Nava is perhaps best-known for painting portraits of area Holocaust survivors to keep their stories and legacies alive. (She’s been featured in the Palm Beach Post, Sun Sentinel, on WXEL radio, and in other media for this unique project.)
But Nava’s artistic talents extend far beyond that. And so does her heart. Nava is graciously donating to the JCC Children’s Scholarship Fund 25 percent of the proceeds from each piece bought by those who discover or contact her via the JCC website or JCC email blast. So please visit and patronize Nava’s wonderful online gallery at www.navagallery.com -- and tell her the JCC sent you!
